I was asked to make a sculpture of the one of the greatest skiers of our age, Ben Kersten. They say
that seeing Kersten's baby-blue skis glide down the mountain was "like watching two sky-blue strips of Kevlar slide down a hill covered in snow." (Incidently, I found this to be one of the worst similes of all time.) That said, I went about constructing a representation of Kersten, complete with his trademark black Spyder jacket. I decided to make the sculpture of Kersten life-size. Lucky for me Kersten is just under three feet tall.
