The Face. My first large LEGO(R) sculpture. After making small models for years, I decided to make a creation of larger proportions. What better subject matter than the face in the mirror! Using a black & white photo and a lot of graph paper I came up with a plan for a rather large mosaic. Wanting it to stand on its own, I decided to make The Face ten studs thick so it could easily support itself. The Face is 80 studs wide and 94 bricks high. I wasn't really counting, but I think I used about 5000 pieces. As can be seen in the photos of the backside of the model, I used random pieces to make up the inside so that the front appeared smooth.
