"Nathan was an enormous draw at the Produce Marketing Association's
Fresh Summit International Convention & Exposition. It was amazing to see how
many buyers and sponsors repeatedly visited our booth during the four day
show to watch the progress of the live LEGO build. The theme and the
colors of the exhibit also complemented our ongoing commitment to children.
But it was fun to see how many adults never quite outgrow our fascination for
toys!"

Produce for Kids, Inc.
Recently, I was asked by the good folks at Produce for Kids to help out with their booth at the PMA Trade Show in Anaheim. Produce for Kids is an excellent program that brings the produce industry together to benefit kids through the Children's Miracle Network. Before the trade show started, I built the Produce for Kids logo out of almost 7,500 LEGO elements. It measured 5 feet by 5 feet. During the course of the show, I then built a large mosaic. Now the program is called PRODUCE for KIDS, so I built a kid, in this case a little girl, eating produce, specifically watermelon. The mosaic took the whole three days of the show to build and I used approximately 4,500 bricks.
I love doing building events like this because you meet so many interesting people. As it was a produce trade show, I met many farmers from throughout the country as well as grocer representatives. I also met three different Watermelon Princesses each of whom asked if she could have the watermelon mosaic when I was done. I demurred.
Apparently the Watermelon Monarchy is not all that powerful.
