Homes for the Homeless Event

I was honored to be a part of the Homes for the Homeless 20th Anniversary Celebration in New York City recently. Over the course of the event I built a large home complete with several "apartments" which guests were encouraged to fill with their own creative LEGO structures. The event was a great success, raising close to a million dollars, and even former Mayor Ed Koch helped out by adding a few bricks to the mix.

I had a good time, as I always enjoy building in my tux. As an artist who works with children's toys all day, I guess it makes me feel more grown up. That and I look spectacular.

Homes for the Homeless is the nation's largest provider of residential, education and employment training centers-serving over 630 homeless families and over 1,200 homeless children each day at five separate sites across New York City.
