Eileen Fisher Outfit

I recently built a large sculpture as part of an event exploring inspiration and imagination. Creativity experts from all walks of life gathered in New York City to explore the absence of creativity in today's playrooms and classrooms and how to bring it back to ensure that kids have bright futures. Speakers included clothing designer Eileen Fisher and actor Matthew Broderick, who spoke about their creative careers and roles as creativity champions at home with their children.

My role was to create a replica of one of Eileen Fisher's spring fashion designs on a mannequin completely out of LEGO elements. I struggled with the thickness of the LEGO bricks as compared to the actual fabric of the outfit. In the end was hopefully able to capture the look of Eileen's design while maintaining that unique brick-artistness. As you can see in some of the pictures above, if anything, at least I got the colors right.

Just for the record, the LEGO outfit is a bit painful to wear and will cause chafing in certain places. I know.

This sculpture is currently on display at the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle in New York City.
