Have you ever seen those amazing displays at toy stores that just make a child's eyes light up as they witness pure magic as toys flutter around like butterflies dancing in the wind? Me neither. But I have seen some interesting toy displays in my day, and I was quite excited when LEGO asked myself, along with fellow builders Dan and Sean, to build a large LEGO city display in FAO Schwarz.
This was a special project for me because growing up, I often created
big LEGO cities in my parent's living room. I think it was also special for my parents because this particular LEGO city was NOT in their living room.
We worked tirelessly over several days creating a ginormous cityscape
full of hundreds of LEGO people. I even included some of the original LEGO people I played with when I was five years old. So that means there are LEGO people in the display that are like, uh, almost twelve years old.
The LEGO City is on display at FAO Schwarz in New
York City in the LEGO section on the second floor. The candy section is on the ground floor. I like Sweet Tarts.
